Creating a Gender-Inclusive School Culture 8:30-11:30

Develop an understanding of the risks facing transgender students, gain an increased awareness of gender identity and gender expression. Best practices for supporting a student through gender transition within the school system will be covered. Although the focus is on transgender students, gender-inclusive schools help all students to feel safe at school.

Teaching Inclusive Comprehensive, Sexual Education in all Classrooms 12:15-2:30

Teachers often feel underprepared to teach sexual health yet there are required outcomes from K–12 in the BC curriculum. This workshop will help you to define what is missing from traditional programs and how to include it in your teaching as well as give you the resources you need to teach sexual health at any level.
